The magic of photography is about the story the image tells and the feelings it creates in the viewer. When you see a wedding photograph that makes you feel warm inside because of the absolute joy on the couple's face, that is a successful image. When you see a pensive portrait of a young adult looking into the future, and you wonder what he is thinking, that image is working magic.When you see an image of an old door in Italy and you can see the generations of changes that have occurred and you wonder about the families that have lived inside, that is an image that is sharing a story.

I love telling the stories of a wedding day. A wedding is both the culmination and a new beginning of a relationship. When I photograph a wedding, I go back to my training as a photojournalist and work to the "5 Ws" of Who, What, Where, Why, and How. This gives me the framework to tell the story through images of the families interacting, the place the wedding happens, the beauty of the ceremony, the events as they happen, all the little details, and the magical connections between the couple.I call it "Creating Emotional Photostories".
Great portraits of people make you feel a connection with the subject. It makes you want to meet that person and know more about them. My goal is to create images of my portrait clients that make an impression on the viewer to make them feel something when they see the portraits. To do that, I work with my clients to sketch out a plan for the session of where we are going and what time of day to best convey the feeling of being with this person.
Businesses need images for lots of different uses. As you will see below, I have a large number of galleries so you can check out images that might meet your needs or give you an idea about what I can do for your business. As a few examples, I do personal branding sessions for small business owners and independent operators that need images of themselves for their marketing. I create illustrative editorial images for magazines. I create business headshots for businesses that need to include their employees in their bids.
I'm Cory, and I love photography and a good story. Ever since I was a child and I saw the photographs appear from nothing after it came out of my dad's Polaroid camera, I have loved the idea of creating images. I decided I was going to be a photographer on the first day of my sophomore year in high school.

We hired Cory Parris to take professional headshots for our team. He was very professional overall and proactive in reaching out for scheduling, which made working with him extremely easy. Not only did he effortlessly find suitable backgrounds and lighting for our photos, but he also created a comfortable environment through his light-hearted personality. We were lucky enough to have Cory photograph two events for us- first our private courthouse wedding ceremony in 2019, then a very belated reception in 2021. Cory was amazing on both occasions. His photos are absolutely wonderful! I am stunned by how unique and beautiful the photos are. The crowd pictures, especially the ones on the dance floor, do a wonderful job of capturing the sheer joy of our day. Cory is a delight to talk with and many of our guests commented on how nice and fun he was!
We also appreciated how responsive and organized he was throughout the process. It was also exceptionally helpful to have Cory leading the way for our courthouse ceremony- he is an unofficial expert on the process and really helped us through where to go and when! Cory Parris photographed our wedding back in 2008. Many moons and two kids later, I'm still so grateful to have chosen him as our photographer. His exquisite photos speak for themselves; our photos are filled with stories of hope, love, friendship and family. On the day of our wedding, Cory was a stealthy but confident leader. He excelled at quietly directing all of the players to capture the important, big moments and the spontaneous, small details; everything from the elated first look of the bride and groom, to the ebullient bounding steps of my little cousin bearing rings, to the requisite formal group photo with the Japanese relatives. Cory is a true professional.
He arrives early and leaves late, and he doesn't make a fuss. He just quietly directs everyone to where they need to go so that he gets amazing photos. I'm writing my review all these years later, not just because I still regard him as my favorite wedding vendor, but because a few weeks ago we were searching for high resolution photos from our wedding in memory of a friend.
The family said Cory's photos were the best photos they had ever seen of her. We couldn't find the original DVD of photos, so I emailed Cory to see if he might still have the files. Despite not having spoken with him for 12 years, he immediately wrote back and said he'd check; a few minutes later, he sent us a link. It reminded me of what an amazing person Cory is. Cory's photos touched us immensely after our wedding, and all these years later we continue to cherish the permanent glimpse they give us of our loved ones' delighted smiles and whimsical winks, their kisses of affection and twirls of happiness. I will forever treasure those moments Cory captured for us.

Cory was wonderful. He was polite, professional, but also goofy and fun. He took great photos and we all had a great time at our semi-elopement wedding. My husband and I wanted to go the courthouse route, but that was not working out and Cory as great just rolling with our change of plans. Excellent eye and captioned some really sweet moments. He was not priced cheaply. But he was not priced outrageously high either. Solid mid-line pricing in my opinion. But! the end product was/is SO beautiful. Would recommend. Might hire him again!

Cory was the photographer for my daughter's Seattle Courthouse wedding. What a delightful man and an amazing experience. Nothing was too much trouble for Cory to capture the perfect picture. The compliments she received about her photos being the "best I've ever seen" are testament to his wonderful talent. I highly recommend him.

My husband and I were absolutely blown away by how easy it was to work with Cory and how amazing our photos turned out. We got married at the Seattle Municipal Courthouse last month and he made the process seamless and stress free, despite us being a little late getting there. We just got our photos back and couldn't be happier!

Cory has been our family photographer for the past 10 years. He has also been the photographer for both of our daughter's weddings, which tells you how much we trust him and how much we love his work. He takes amazing photos and is pleasant and easy to work with. He worked miracles recently by getting all three of our grandchildren to look at the camera at the same time, and to capture the most adorable smiles and photos of our family.
We have never been disappointed with his work and would highly recommend him for family photos, engagements, weddings, and we've even had him take professional shots for several members of our family. We can't say enough good things about Cory and his professionalism, his experience, and his ability to make magic happen with his camera. He does amazing work!

Cory did an amazing job with our wedding photos. He is very easy to work with and is very willing to accommodate our schedule. He also gives great tips and tricks on how to relax and feel less awkward with photo taking. Everyone loved the photos! Pricing is reasonable judging from the quality of his work. I am really glad that I had Cory's help on wedding photography!

Cory is the ONLY professional photographer you will find for a Seattle Courthouse Elopement. Cory was the first one at the courthouse. We were still looking for it, Lol. His patience was amazing and he knew exactly where to go for all the perfect shots. He is so experienced and was set up for everything. We went from one shot to the next with ease.

Cory was a pleasure to work with. Many of our guests and parents commented about how nice and professional he was. His work was phenomonal, and we're super happy we chose him. His response times were quick, and finish product was given to us earlier than expected. He was direct and helpful on our wedding day and never once did we feel uncomfortable or pushed. The photos were one of the most important things to me going into the wedding planning, so it was one of the first decisions we made. We asked around for recommendations and heard only great things about Cory, so we met him and decided he was the one. Pictures were so important to me because we only get to get one chance at it and these are the memories you will look back on forever, and I couldn't be happier with our decision.
He did two engagement shoots for us (one just us, and one with us and our kids), as well as our wedding, and i will continue to ask him to come photograph any events we may have from now on. Our engagement pics were perfect, and we couldn't imagine how he would top it with our wedding pics but he blew us away. The wedding day went by so fast, i didn't have the time to stop and appreciate how beautiful it was or to spend time with all of our guests but looking back through the pictures he got all of the details of the wedding that i had missed, and got lots of great pictures of my family and friends so that even if i didn't get to visit with them, i can see how much fun they were having.
I got many compliments from my guests after the wedding about how friendly my photographer was and how he managed to be everywhere and move around to get the best shots while somehow not drawing attention. Cory was absolutely wonderful to work with! He is very personable, professional, and extremely gifted. He is so passionate about his work, and he helped my husband and I feel comfortable & confident- it was a really fun experience! The photos he took are fantastic- Cory did an incredible job of capturing each special aspect of our wedding. You can really feel the energy of our wedding through his photos, it brings me right back to that day whenever I look at them!

Cory's photography for my daughters' senior photo was so excellent that we had trouble narrowing down to our top 10 choices for the school yearbook. We were delighted with the quality of his photos - he is very gifted - and loved the breadth of backgrounds and composition he achieved in one session. His warm personality instantly put my daughter at ease and we both had a lot of fun at the photo shoot. I would strongly recommend him for anyone.

We were living on the East Coast when we first heard about Cory and we absolutely fell in love with his photography. The thing that we were initially drawn to was his ability to produce pictures that made you feel that you were there at each event.
