I will Never get photos taken at Yuen Lui again. First of all they up sell you when you go in to view your photos, then you buy the up sell, don't use it and when your ready, it's expired. So basically your paying triple the price! Then your photos fade so badly they look washed out and lose their color. You then ask for an updated version of the photo and they only store their photos for like 3 years, I think it is. Most of all they destroy them, and yet the best part is they don't care! Find a better studio if you want your photos to last!

The Yuen Lui studio in Seattle is great! Photographer was professional and kind, and had good recommendations for poses. Loved my experience!

The photographer is good, but we showed up right on time for our appointment. Our appointment was at 11:50. We were there at 11:50, but the appointment after us had come early so they started them first so we had to wait 20 mins. We had a tight schedule for the day and this messed it up. I would have understood if we were late, but we were on time. They did nothing to help or accommodate us.

I purchased the photo session membership (5 photo sessions for $125) because I just had my first child and it sounded like a deal to be able to capture her first year. However, I'm regretting it. I can never get through to speak with anyone in the office or to make a reservation. I'm constantly calling and leaving messages to no avail. I've been trying to reschedule a photo session (that already took me 2 weeks to get scheduled) just to an earlier time on the same day.

I called on Thursday and didn't get a call back until today, Saturday. My appointment is tomorrow. I missed the call from the office and called back 20 minutes later several times with no answer. I've tried calling every hour since and still no answer. At first I was being manually forwarded to voicemail after 1 ring and then eventually they just let the phone ring until going to voicemail.

This is ridiculous. It shouldn't be so hard to just make appointments or change times. Once I use up my membership, I will not be returning as a customer. The customer service is some of the worst I've ever experienced.

I appreciate that they figured out a way to do school photos in studio, but you have to go inside to check in, too many people waiting indoors. It felt unsafe. Wish they were checking in people outside and then only allowing kids in a couple at a time.

We are super happy with our experience at this studio. James was excellent. He was charming and outgoing. He made us feel welcome and gave us time to get our girls dressed for their photo shoot. He was very gregarious. The studio is spacious and there was a really big room for the girls to change. It made it much easier because we have four children to have the space.

We had a moment of panic when we thought the flash wouldn't work, but he managed to fix it. I am certain he got a perfect Christmas card photo. He worked well with the kiddos and kept their attention. I used to get my photos done when I was a kid here, and I'm happy to take my kids' photos here now! I would request James for all my photo shoots. He did an awesome job. Would highly recommend this studio.

Professional customer service. I love it how the photographer can make the family into pretend. Lol. Which makes it a blessing meaningful to me, for the first time in a long time to be squeezed love like so. Wonderful. Affordable price and I thanks to their effort. Looking forward for a next time with a complete family members.

Absolutely amateur level photography two years in a row. My review is their in-school photography for students in elementary school. This is the second year of receiving images that are of embarrassing quality for anyone who would claim to be a professional studio. I am so disappointed yet again. Specifically last year they washed out my daughters beautiful brown skin tone and the background looks like a dmv photo blue it's just absolutely bland.

This year the background is again a solid gray that looks better than the blue but there are lighting issues that only an amateur would end up with. Half my daughters face is in shadow she has a weird light flare on her left florehead and flash glare in other places.

The administrative process has has declined since the new location. We spent a few hundred dollars to purchase a package to save on annual family photos. For both of our photo shoots the photographer was very good. The second time he was flexible as we brought along our in-laws to the shoot. My father-in-law wanted a headshot for his new book. He got quite a nice one.

The two stars relate directly to (a) the pressure sales tactics we experienced at the end of the shoot, and (b) an email and phone call that promised a promised delivery date which was in error. (a) The employee pitched expensive print options when we were walking out the door. We asked (repeatedly) for just digital delivery for the images. She talked my father-in-law into purchasing a print package which was completely uncalled for. (b) I follow up by phone to ask about the delivery of the digital files.

I was told that an email would arrive and it did not. When I got an email which specified the time frame for reviewing the proofs and placing a print order I was excited. The email was inaccurate. The date the gallery was supposed to be ready was wrong and the album was not ready to view. I spent about two hours on the phone. The bottom lines is they dropped the ball and we could not get the photo on our holiday cards.

The pleasant woman at the national call center admitted that they were having calls from other customers about administrative issues at this particular location. I plan to go back to use up our photo package. I will update after our next session.

Everything about me wants to love getting Santa pictures here because they turn out better than the mall pics, you don't have to wait in line, and you can choose from multiple photos. This is my third (and last year) getting them taken here. My BIGGEST complaint is that they take an enternity to get back so you won't get to enjoy them until you break them out the following year.

When I scheduled our appointment for December 1st I asked how long it would take to get them back they told me about a week. I called today (now the 19th) and the girl rudely brushed me off saying they got a shipment in today and would email me when they are ready. I guess mine are not ready still because I have not received an email. I will not be taking them again here unless they schedule Santa pictures in November or rush their turnaround time.

In June, 2018, we booked a photo session on Alki for a family reunion of ten people from two states, including a toddler and a 3 year old. Although the weather threatened rain and with temps barely in the 50s, we all showed up. The photographers, Kendra and Olivia, were wonderful, taking many dozens of pictures in four locations on Alki with several family combinations.

They worked especially hard to keep the kids engaged. They had proofs ready later that day and they were all great! In August, Yuen Lui again proved their professionalism when we had the misfortune with a popular frame shop badly crinkling a 16 x 20 print from our shoot. When I contacted the Yuen Lui manager, Chloe, and sales manager, Kaylie, they graciously arranged for a gratis reprint since I could return the original print. Phew!

We were so pleased with the results that we highly recommend Yuen Lui on Roosevelt. A bit of a drive from Auburn, but a great crew to work with to preserve those family memories.

Super impersonal studio. Only go here if you have no other options. And if they do your children's school photos, order the cheapest package. You can always buy more later. They trick you into buying a package before seeing the photos. And if you need a re-take because the photo they selected is bad, you must travel to their location to do a retake. They don't come to the school to offer re-takes. My overall advice, buy a cheap package or go with another studio whose more reasonable and flexible.

We have been coming to YL for our annual family portraits for many years because we purchased the family plan. However, when asked if we'd like to renew it this year, we decided to opt out and try a new photographer in the future. Every year something seems to go wrong. In years past, we have gotten the wrong photograph printed, or the retouching on glasses has come out looking very strange or we are missing a part of our order.

They have been great in discounting or giving us prints free for the mistakes. This year, we received the digital images of our photos for review 4 days later than promised, and this was after we sent an email and called. However, these digital files didn't contain the favorites folder so we had to call back again to request this folder so we didn't have to comb through 150+ pictures a second time.

This didn't get emailed until 12 days later! We placed our order 2 days after getting the favorites and were told it'd take about a week to get the digital retouched copies. It has been 8 days and they're not done and said the pictures won't be ready until Wednesday. We tried to ask if they could rush just 1 of the digital pictures and they said they'd try.

The guy on the phone said he could photoshop it if the lab wasn't able to get it to us but we aren't paying hundreds of $$ for photoshop! It's now 3 weeks later and all we have are the original unretouched pictures. I'm usually sending out holiday cards by now. This "temporary" location is a lot more rundown than the original location.

Between pictures we had to keep our coats on because it was cold. We are sad to leave YL because we've always had great pictures here but customer service has gotten worse over the years and it's been really frustrating.

We have our family sessiontoday- part of our membership plan! Didnt like it at all; could not find one picture that we are happy with to print. Asked for re-take but was told they didn't have any available slot today! However we didn't get offered to retake on any other day. Ended up buying the 2nd package to keep the CD for fun. Pictures don't look as professionals as it used to be. 2 stars because I love Yuenlui, but I think they need to hire more experience and creative photographers. Not so impressed this time

Rob our photographer was great. Quick and easy shoot. We did a few poses and all looked good. The place is a little run down. Expected it to look a little more updated but they did the job so I have no complaints

So I was just sent a notification from my kid's school about the need for Senior pictures. They mentioned Yuen Lui as a company that we could use. NO WAY! I suspect their photography is just fine. About 10 years ago I was attending an event at a nearby venue and I parked at their lot. It was around 8pm on a Saturday and they were closed. Apparently a manager was working late and felt that they should tow my car (which was done around 10pm). Of course that is their right. I was in one of their spaces and they felt I needed a $350 lesson.

This is the second time Stuart has done my professional head shots. He does a fantastic job of getting context about the need for the photos by asking sensible questions and is able to keep me focused during the shoot. Come to think of it the entire team were super helpful from beginning to the end and it made my day.

Stuart did an amazing job working with my shy 7 month old. We ended up laughing a ton, as we watched his pro tricks to get her to smile (feather duster!). He was great and clearly enjoys his work I have a ton to choose from and enjoyed the experience. *the new location is near a church, and it works just fine. The old location was a small stand alone building that I am sure will be condos soon.

The new location didn't bother me at all- it is a growing city and the studios worked out just fine. And the guy at the front desk helped me with my stroller down the 3 steps. Easy!

At the time I set up my appointment, I was not told that the studio had moved location just 2 days ago. I arrived at old location with my kids and family while it was raining and then had to google new location. New location was horrible, restroom was disgusting. The photo session was painful as we expected because we had similar experience with the same person few years ago and I had made sure that our photographer this time was somebody other than him. But no, who cares, it was still him. Pictures came out bad. Had to still select 2 half-heartedly Not going back to Yuen Lui ever again!.

Been going there for years with my family always a great experience always great photos. I have learned that with kids ranging from ages 21y/o to 3 months you get what you can, its really about the experience and capturing all the crazy moments in our lives. Our photographers always do their best to get the best shots possible. Customer service has always been great, we are always greeted by kind staff who are extremely friendly to our kids. Love them!

Well, coincidentally I actually received a phone call from Yuen Lui last week just hours after I ranted on Yelp!, Google, and filed a BBB claim. They rushed my order (I guess it's a rush, tho the order was placed almost 6 months ago) and I received it today. But lo and behold, the order is wrong. It's missing prints, it's the wrong size and number of other prints, and there's a large print of the wrong picture.

In fact, what they sent me makes zero sense--you can't even order what they sent me.--as in they don't sell packages or even individual photos in the size/qty combinations that they sent me. One of the packages was supposed to include a team photo & memory mate--but I have a feeling that didn't have have my son linked to a team (because the order was old?) and either didn't want to take the time for me to re-give them the info via phone or email or actually look at my sons portrait and try to find him in one of the 3 basketball team photos--so they just left it out of the order. Because that would've taken someone an extra 3-5 minutes. And guess what else? Straight to voicemail on their service line. Ugh, Yuen Lui sucks!

Arrived early and was accommodated quickly. Took our family pictures with 2 dogs. Our photographer, Stuart, was good about capturing their attention and getting us very good shots. We had a good experience.

3.5 stars, better than average but as others have mentioned Yuen Lui studios are a little bit on the pricy side. Groupon is my best friend, I bought one last year and another one this year to get in a photo session before my wedding, kind of like our "engagement pics, part II." For $50 you get 1 8x10, 2 5x7, 8 wallets & a digital copy. This is ONLY for one pose, if you like another pose you'll have to add a package and it's PRICY.

We liked two additional pictures which cost us an extra $100. The location is kind of crappy, the driveway is STEEP. My fiance has a lowered car so this driveway was nightmare for him, he didn't even attempt because he was too afraid it would damage his car. The last time we stopped by (a few days ago) we drove my car and just plummeted up to the front door haha. I'm sure the lot gets crowded, you can always go further down the street and walk.

Or strategically pick a random day so you can get a spot in the parking lot, yay! One thing that I didn't like was the poses are all kind of the same. I compared our pics this year vs last year, the background and poses were nearly identical. The backgrounds are usually a red-ish pattern or a sky baby blue color. We did do some poses standing near the light, that was cool!

Maybe if you guys utilized your groupon for an outdoor session it would offer a bigger bang for your buck. I'm not sure if there's an extra fee for the outdoor session though, I'm guessing yes. The pictures do come out clearer than most places. We also took pictures at Picture People and this place is definitely the better choice. You probably won't get away with just paying for the $50 groupon but an overall good place to take your fam bam pics!
