Located in between San Diego and Orange County, I am an Oceanside native and I have been photographing weddings & families for over 10 years in Southern California, and all over the world. From the moment you become a Vallentyne client, to the delivery of your photos, I will guide you through the entire experience. I'm a an artist, local business owner, a wife, mother of two boys, and Oceanside, CA native. My passion is in photographing people and their connections to each other, I love relationships and the stories they tell. I have been a photographer for 15 years and am amongst the most experienced photographers in our area.
My goal is to take the stress out of photography for you. Our photos will be fun, laid back, and meaningful. Best of all, I won't leave you hanging because I always give flattering directions and come with lot's of creative ideas for compositions and posing. The biggest compliment I get is when clients say they are surprised by how much fun they have on the session.
There are so many important elements, and I transition between portraits, photojournalism, and details throughout the day to create well balanced coverage that tells the whole story. I always incorporate natural and organic elements into my photography that will reflect your wedding. I am primarily a natural light photographer, but I also have years of studio experience that allows me to find beautiful light in any situation.
You're going to be married for over 50 years, but you only get to be engaged for this short period of time. I love to capture the only time in your life when you get to be each other's fiances. My goal is to take the stress out of photography for you. Our photos will be fun, laid back, and meaningful.

We LOVE Heather at Vallentyne Photography! She photographed our wedding in 2008, and we also used her services for both of our children's newborn photoshoots. She has also done other various family photoshoots for our Christmas cards throughout the years. We always love the photos and have a hard time choosing which pictures to purchase! They are all so great.
She has a good balance of natural poses, action shots, and details. She captures our kids' personalities perfectly every time. We always get compliments on the amazing photos she takes for us. Definitely hire Heather if you are looking for a photographer!

Heather was great and I would highly recommend her! She not only did our wedding but engagement shoot and we were so happy with how the pictures turned out! We have used Heather as our photographer for the last 9 years, and I cannot say enough about how fabulous her photos are! She is patient and kind and so easy to work with (even my kids look forward to seeing her), and she captures the most precious moments. Heather is amazing! She shot my sister's wedding in 2013, so when I got engaged she was the only photographer I wanted for my big day! Heather did an engagement shoot for us in Laguna Beach, she made it very fun and natural (my husband hates photos and he ENJOYED himself). When it came time for our big day, Heather and her assistant did a great job capturing our wedding.
When we got the pictures back my husband and I were SOOO impressed! We also just found out that our pictures will be featured in Ceremony Magazine 2019! I HIGHLY recommend Heather for your big day!

We have had our family portraits done with Heather for years and absolutely LOVE them every single year! She is not only talented, personable and caring, she has the magic gift of capturing the best moments on film and adding her special touch to make them beautiful. I can't say enough good things about Heather! She is an absolutely amazing photographer! Our photos turned out spectacular! She was an absolute delight to have with us on our wedding day. She even braved the chilly weather on the beach to get us some amazing shots! She was also organized, very easy to worth with, and reasonably priced. I would absolutely recommend her!

We chose Vallentyne Photography for our November 2013 wedding. We loved Heather right away. she is friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and talented.
