Situated on the Olympic Peninsula, Olympic National Park offers tremendous diversity for photographers. At nearly one million acres, the park encompasses three major ecosystems. Rugged coastal beaches, temperate rainforest, and beautiful glacier-capped peaks create breathtaking scenery and amazing photo opportunities.
Tucked away in the southeast corner of Washington State, the Palouse region is one of the most unique destinations for landscape photographers in the northwestern U.S. With its gentle rolling hills and pastel colors reminiscent of Tuscany, the opportunities for unique and abstract landscapes seem endless.
It's been over 15 years now since I've started guiding workshops in Glacier and I'm very excited to announce our 2021 summer workshop for Montana! This workshop covers just about everything for outdoor and travel photographers. Starting our trip on the east side of the park, we will be photographing Glacier's iconic landscapes and mountain peaks, alpine wildflowers, and the many waterfalls that are located along Going to the Sun road.
The Bitterroot Valley is one of the most spectacular fall locations in western Montana nestled just beneath the towering snowcapped Bitterroot Mountain range. Each fall its landscapes are transformed into brilliant golden hues and vibrant colors throughout the valley. The Bitterroot Valley is located just south of Missoula, Montana and is a rich corridor of farm and ranch lands, wetland habitat, and also home to the famous Bitterroot River.
One of my absolute favorite locations in Montana to photograph during the fall. The Seeley-Swan valley has an amazing array of lakes located throughout the valley along with spectacular fall colors, including the tamaracks which are at their peak this time of year turning their brilliant golden hues.
