They are the worst, I emailed them about an issue I had with my child's photo, I told them if they can't correct it cancel my order. MY daughter had a runny nose that week due to allergies. When you look at her photo you can see a river of snot coming down to her lip, and a small booger in her nostril. It's so upsetting because, she looked so pretty.
I even gave her a pretty necklace but, all you can see is her boogers. She was so upset, shAme on them, I mean you cant offer her a tissue to wipe her nose, what the fuck is wrong with you people? then I ask you to fix and, you sent me a photo then has a defect from you trying to correct. I can't even give it to anyone, I threw in my drawer cause I can't even look at it's so embarrassing. It's been seventy-five years that's how you treat kids like my daughter picture day is suppose to be fun time and exciting time for children instead you let them look bad what a shame

Was very unpleasantly surprized to find out that there is no reasonably priced package that would include a digital download + group photo only. The cheapest photo download with a "free" group photo is $64.95. Seriously, 1 digital photo and 1 group print is what most people would want. Do parents really have to pay $65 to get that? I don't need a bunch of prints that you add there to rack up the price. The photo download ONLY with 1 image, 1 background is $59.95. How can a single mom with multiple kids pay that, for example? Ridiculous prices!

I have never been treated with more kindness and understanding than I've recently received from the team at Irvin Simon. After ordering my daughter's graduation photos, my mail carrier delivered my photos damaged, he bent the envelope in half although it stated in bold letters, "DO NOT BEND". I reached out to Irvin customer support and explained the situation and my disappointment, they were quick to respond and resolving the issue by mailing out a new set. I am truly grateful. Thank you guys again for your generosity!

Well I don't mean to pile on, but I have the same feedback as so many. The worst pictures. My daughter is 2 years old and we dressed her in a cute dress and they cropped the picture from her chest up and she isn't smiling. It looks like a mug shot. Pretty awful. And the group shot they have on the paper they sent home isn't even avail to purchase.
Their e-commerce experience definitely needs to be brought up to par. And they really need to hire photographers that can get multiple poses, close up, more wide shot and maybe have a couple of props or something to make it more engaging.

Every year I look forward to school pictures for my boys! Never disappoints. If you have question or an issue, company representatives are top notch. Their customer service is outstanding, easy communication, understandable. problems are resolved very quickly. every year I email them thank you note for awesome pictures. highly recommended.

They really are the worst, not only taking 1 photo and even restricting my daughter to only do one pose which is plain blunt and sad. Not only that, i am truly amazed how awful photo they can take, even my 5 yrs old daughter can take a photo of her sister with my iphone 12 pro max looking WAY MUCH prettier than Irvin photo company. over the years, i got fed up with these disgusting pictures and decide to write this review. HOPEFULLY, THEY WILL STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN to all parent's comments. Otherwise, i will never spend another dime on their pictures.

My son's school is using this company for school picture days. Every time for 9 years I have been asking myself the same question: "How are they still in business?". Every year I would love to order a picture, but when I get a samples, my son looks like an Adams family member. Different member every time. I am amazed how in the world they manage to get such a pictures! Unbelievable. Don't waste your time, look for a company who knows how to work with kids.

My child is Asian. I wonder if the company lacks experience with photographing Asian skin tones. The photo looks.eww.so unflattering and harsh. The sixteen-year-old seems to have easily aged ten years in the photo. I've received over a dozen email reminders from the company to order prints or products by now, and I never bothered to place an order.

No communication, awful customer experience, months without pictures of our kids. For a laugh they actually sent us a similar aged boy and girl. Never corrected - there is no one to talk to!

I was given access to three galleries (one for each child and a siblings gallery) for a total of 10 images (minus the group photo). Since I'd like digital copies of the 10 images I needed to add the $99 "Photo Download - Unlimited + Group Photo!" package three times into my cart and am left with a bill of over $300. Aside from the cost, the ethics behind this is bothersome.
If I had a gallery of 999 images (the max amount of photos that can be added within a single gallery), I would be paying $99 to "reproduce, edit and share" those images. The communication with customer service is sporadic and I was extended a subpar discount whose rationale has nothing to do with my concerns. The human component of this company is lacking and there doesn't seem to be a sense of moral conviction as I sit helplessly waiting for them to communicate with me. If you can convince your schools to steer clear of this company, do it! I know I will.

I'm not familiar with this company other than the school photo comps I just received. Via a web-link, 4 images of my child were presented for purchase. Loving Dad I am, I want them ALL and was ready to buy them all, and all sorts of items. However, Visual Effects Artist that I am noticed that the 4 images are actually only 2 different images, with a slight scale up of each to make it appear to be 4 different images. (comparison compositing confirmed this. 112.5% scale up to be exact) Why they would present identical images with such a minuscule difference for purchase. Draw your own conclusion.

Disappointed my school went w this company. Pictures are poor quality and badly lit. Then they want to charge $20 for retouch, when you're already paying for a professional quality photo. Terrible photos, terrible backgrounds to choose from, terrible package options compared to other companies. It's 2021 and the quality is more 1991.

In todays day in age there is no excuse for terrible school pictures. I realize we are in a covid world but the kids were outside in the courtyard. The photographers should mask up and fix a hair that is flying away or a folded over sweater or if they are not comfortable doing that then have an aid on duty to do it. Or if that still doesn't work then do it when parents can come fix the kids themselves.
But my 6 year old cannot be expected to fix herself up for her photograph. To have photos where the sweater is a mess, the hair is a mess and it's clear no one even looked her over, with digital photography, is unacceptable. But then they charge you extra to touch up fly away hairs and retouch bad photos. So why would they want to take the time to make sure the kid looks good in the first place, when they can make an extra $10 to fix the frizzy hair they neglected. And I know its not just covid protocols, because I have heard from other parents that this has been normal with Irvin Simon for YEARS!

Unfortunately, this is my 2nd time dealing with this company because my child's summer camp uses them. I was given 1 proof and it was out of focus. In order to get 1 download of a single pose AND a print of the group, this company wanted to charge $50! $50 for a single print that I can purchase via Mpix for less than $1. I don't know why schools and camps continue to use this company - what they charge for their subpar photos is downright criminal. P.S. - When you use full blown flash under the bright bright midday sun you should be able to get perfect focus with a faster shutter speed.
On top of that, maybe don't blow out the skin and make everyone look like ghosts? You probably don't know about it since it's clear your photographers never spent a day in photography school learning like the rest of us. 'll be letting the camp know that there are far better freelance photographers that they could be using that won't try to rip off parents into spending way more than they need to.

We were initially told that there would be 4-5 DIFFERENT pictures to choose from on their website once the pictures became available. This was not the case. There was ONE picture posted. 4 times! I tried calling this company to no avail. Now, I can't speak for everyone but school pictures mean a lot to most parents and to have a company take that away is simply wrong. I will be sending a letter to my sons school district suggesting that they read the reviews prior to hiring a company that doesn't follow through with what they advertise.

We did a Retake for picture day, and ending up loving the original pose after all. I emailed the Irvin Simon to please mark the preferred pose, or delete the unwanted Retake pose so that it won't end up on the class collage. They responded that their team "reviews all the images of the class for a variety of criteria and selects the best images to ensure consistency across the assembled photo." Needless to say, it ended up on the class collage and their customer service is nonexistent.
Now they all the currently typical reasons of this unprecedented year and that they're a small family owned business and don't have the capacity to choose poses. So they couldn't simply delete a photo, which I requested over 6 months before this class collage went to print. Awful customer service.

Terrible e-commerce experience and even worse customer service. They refused to send the digital download of my child's photo package as advertised on their website. I asked for the owner and they refused to put me through. Looking at all of the poor reviews here, I see that I'm not alone. Picture Day should be a joyous moment, not a bait & hook scam. This will be the last time I use their service and I encourage everyone to do their research before booking.

Shocked at all of these negative reviews! The customer service was SUPERB. They even touched up the photo after I received it when we realized that my son's nose had been a bit drippy. No questions - they offered. Could his smile have been a bit better and would I have liked to have a couple of options rather than just a bit closer / further away? Sure. But I loved the background options and I really can't say enough good things about them as a company.

I really liked one of the pictures that was taken of my child. However, the customer service is awful. I went online and selected the picture that I liked but didn't get a chance to put in my credit card information. I went back a few days later and the price of the picture had doubled! When I called the company to see if I could purchase the picture at the previous price, I was told absolutely nothing could be done. So disappointing and frustrating!

The pictures came out nice, unfortunately I cannot say the same about the customer service. We have twins in the same class and were looking to order a sibling package as well as some individual pictures as add-ons. The class pictures are complimentary with the individual packages but not the sibling packages (which makes sense). However, when I called and asked if it was possible to include a complimentary class picture with the sibling package considering I have kids in the same class, I was told this wasn't possible and my only option was to pay for the class picture a la carte.
This is terrible customer service with zero flexibility for someone who was about to spend $100+ on pictures. I have to think there was something they could have done. As an update, someone from the customer service team reached out to me and rectified the situation. Thanks for your help!

I am baffled at their lack of professionalism. This company makes too many mistakes and their Customer Service is no better. I prepaid for my children's school's pictures online and sent in the codes. One of the packages came in but not the other. Mind you, both were charged as reflected on my statement. After numerous attempts, I waited over 2 months to receive only PART of the package I was owed.
As of January 27th, I am still waiting to receive in its entirety, the products I paid for in October! Also, like I stated before, my family was not the only one affected in school. On top, this is the second time we experience the same issue. Next school year, if the school picks them again, we will not be ordering from them.

Every year I order the school pictures and always have to request a retake. They dont seem to care about how your child will be in the picture. We paid for them a good price and I think they should at least be able to capture a good smile Very poor work quality. They dont care at all about our clildren's school pictures.

I had a bad experience with my child's school pictures - doesn't seem like these guys know how to work with young children (3-4 years) in order to distract them enough to smile. I don't know how in good conscience anyone can take these terrible pictures, and then send me an email saying your pictures are ready, order now. Young children need guidance and distraction in order to pose and smile - that's a basic fact.
Beyond the no smile issue, the lighting, the composing of the picture were also terrible, adding to my view that these guys don't know or don't care about what they're doing.

Well we did the retakes this time the picture came out much better, the photographer they sent for the retake had the right lighting and the class picture was retouched so it look better. What I'm not too happy with is the selection of packages available for parents to purchase and the fact that there's no cd option.

This place is a ripoff! My daughter school pick this place for their graduation pictures and it was nothing but a ripoff! Their prices are way too high. Their packages sucks! I ended up spending $80! All I wanted was two different size pics of the package that they offered. $80 for 2 pictures! That not right! Irvin Simon Photographers do the photos at our child's Elementary school in Queens NY. We ordered the 5x7" class photo to frame for her room and it came as an inset photo on an 8x10" page filled with advertising to buy more photos. If I ordered a 5x7" then that is what I expect to receive, a 5x7" print that is ready for a frame. What I got was a DIY photo trimming project where the average pair of home scissors leaves an uneven edge.
I get they want to upsell all of us to a coffee mug or keychain but the advertising for the company comes at the expense of the product I paid for. Do not force paying customers to do the trimming on their own photos or you can bet discerning customers will return them or write bad reviews.

Worst photos ever! I wasn't impressed last year. This year it's even more disappointing. Just received my son's school photos and they are terrible. The class photo has bright spot just in the middle (1/6 of the entire photo), the rest of the photo merely got any flash light! It was a rainy day when they took the photos. They should have done something to help the lack of natural light situation. The lighting in my son's individual photo is of really bad quality as well.
