Really outstanding experience. Amy is professional, experienced, and fun to work with. Results were much better than expected! I agree with others, if you are shy about getting your picture taken, she is the photographer for you.

Amy helped me get three wonderful headshots for online professional profiles (such as LinkedIn) in half an hour. We took many pictures of several poses and then we reviewed them on large monitors. After selecting three, she touched them up overnight and delivered them electronically the next day. Amy Stern photography was professional and wonderful to work with.

Amy is The Bomb! We chose Amy to do my daughter's Senior photos in an outdoor setting and it went beautifully. She gave us ideas ahead of time for outfits, props, and venue choices. She took us to a couple of different locations in Carrboro that provided so much depth and diversity. some edgy and industrial backdrops. and also some outdoorsy, natural settings.

It was fun and relaxing. not stressful and pressured or rushed like so many experiences I've had in the past. Amy took her time with us and made my daughter feel like a model! Amy is so laid back, kind-natured, and easy to work with. We could not be more pleased with the beautiful photos she presented us with. Hard to choose and narrow it down. Amy Stern is the total package!

If you avoid the camera whenever possible, Amy Stern is the photographer for you when avoidance is no longer possible. To my whining and whinging, she explained that everyone is self-conscious about having their pictures taken. She talked me through it, made me laugh, answered my unending questions about her life to provide distraction, and gave me confidence by showing me the results along the way.

As far as the practical side of things, making contact, and scheduling were a breeze. Amy provided a large set of proofs within hours after the photos were taken, retouched a selected subset, and provided the final images two days later. The bottom line is, I look better than I thought possible - always a good thing. Thanks a million, Amy.

I recently had my headshots taken with Amy and I was a bit nervous going in. Amy did an exceptional job at preparing me ahead of time, creating a very relaxed environment, and capturing a wide variety of pictures in a short period of time. She actually made it fun. Fantastic professional headshots! I went to Amy for headshots for business profiles and conferences, and described my job descriptions (working in videogames), so that we could choose shots and poses that weren't too "serious business". She was absolutely accommodating and made me feel at ease, walking me through the process as I had never had photos done before.

She made really good use of the hour; I didn't feel rushed; and I was able to use a few different outfits and review the photos as we went so that we could adjust on the go. I also love that Amy uses an online reservation tool; everything was so easy to set up. I'd definitely come back and recommend her work.

I have worked with Amy a couple times now. Recently I needed an updated headshot. Her Carrboro studio is equipped with all the background s you could use which helps with deciding on options. She takes her time to get a feel for what you are looking for while adding good insights on what would make a good shot. She is easy going, so in my case that helped me relax. Before the appointment her website had prep tips so I was able to make the most of my time. I would recommend using Amy for your professional image needs.

When I got to Amy's studio, we were quickly set up and going and had a bunch of good pictures to pick from. Amy is an incredible photographer and a wonderful person. I am a 24 year old girl and just had a series of headshots done. Although I am pretty self conscious about the way I look, Amy made me feel so comfortable. I brought a few changes of clothes, and she was happy to help me decide which options would look best in pictures. We did some shots inside her studio as well as outside, as per my request. My photos turned out wonderfully. I could not recommend Amy more highly.

Amy created some excellent personal head shots to use on my professional websites. What a great job! She was creative, easy to work with and gave me lots of feedback throughout the session. all in a very relaxed atmosphere. I felt we were a good team: selecting the outfits, setting up poses and making the final selections.

Amy Stern has done portraits for our family outdoors and these are magical photos. I have boys with special needs (although I did not know it at the time she did the photos) including Autism and ADHD. My boys were extremely active and my son with Autism would not listen to her or sit still. Actually this was one of the main reasons we wanted the photos (we can't seem to photograph that squirmy boy!). Amy was extremely patient with us and the boys even though they were horrible!

Her patience and persistence paid off, the photos were remarkable! Also I recently was fortunate enough to have a beauty photo-session (so much fun! with champagne, hair, makeup) and it was equally remarkable. I have never felt more beautiful in my life and now I have photos to remember this wonderful day forever! The beauty photo-session is especially great for busy women who never get a chance to slow down and get nice photos. She did great professional shots for work as well as fantastic, fun shots. My husband loves these photos and he now has one on his desk at work! I recommend her very highly!

When I read her bio and saw that she was a movie buff, I immediately reached out to her and we set up a shoot. I first hired Amy to do maternity and new born photos and I was extremely pleased with the results that I hired her again to do the 1 year photos of my first child. We were looking for a photographer for a family picture, and were impressed by the work on Amy's site (www.amystern.com). Several other photographers from the area had been recommended to us, but Amy's work was most aligned to what we were looking for. Amy was able to schedule us quickly, and really listened to what we were looking to achieve.

She gave us some helpful tips in planning for our picture and we met her out at a park, which proved to be a beautiful choice. The session was completed within an hour or so, and Amy and her assistant worked efficiently to get some really amazing pictures (and I should point out that my three kids are ages 6 and under, so this was no easy feat!) When Amy brought over the pictures for us to review, we were so thrilled that we ended up purchasing our holiday cards from her, in addition to one of the packages she offered. Everything arrived in plenty of time for the holidays, and exceeded our expectations.
