After working with Karl, I would absolutely create opportunities just to work with him again. We just finished a fabulous shoot with him at our wedding-- and the entire process from the introductory interview to our wedding day has been nothing short of professional and the highest quality. We loved his lifestyle approach, his emphasis of quality over quantity/ price, his genuine but laid back manner, and his ability to really help us feel at ease in front of the camera.
We never felt like we were under any clock (from the first conversation, which lasted almost 2 hours! to the wedding day, when he was punctual but never told us that "time is up"), and was completely flexible and accommodating while still ensuring that we were going to receive the best photos possible. He also did our engagement shoot at Fort Mason, and stayed with us through the end of the day even though we arrived 1.5 hrs late due to Bay Bridge traffic!
All our friends and family LOVED our engagement photos, loved working with him on our wedding day-- and we are so eager to see the final product in just a few short weeks. Thank you Karl!

When we interviewed Karl Ko, we immediately hit it off. Unlike another photographer (who shall remain nameless) we interviewed, Karl was down to earth and very accepting of what we wanted in a photographer. He did not start the clock the minute he stepped out the door for our wedding day. He did not nickle and dime us. He is not a pure photojournalist nor a traditionalist. Rather, he was there to capture our story no matter how long he thought it would take. Sure, we did ask for the more boring group shots with family and guest tables around the room, but looking back at the rest of the photos of the day, he combined fashion and photojournalism with a bit of art to make spectacular photos.
My suggestion is that when you hire Karl, you continue to keep him in the loop with all your wedding details. And if he ever asks you if you want to do something artistic and new, just go for it. We ended up with a photo-mosaic on our wall which is fantastic.

Karl did a fantastic job photographing our wedding. He was wonderful to work with, dealing equally well with all manner of crazy relatives and me, the crazy bride-to-be. Not only is he a great "people person, " but he also takes amazing photographs--he captured every moment of the wedding beautifully, from the nerves as we all got ready right through to the after-party.
He was great about making sure to cover all our must-have photos but also used his creative eye to get photos I didn't know I needed but now wouldn't want to be without. My spouse and I are so pleased with our album and so are all of our family members. I highly recommend Karl's work.
