Delighted with the excellent quality and service. Transformed three 8mm home movie reels that were nearly 50 years old. Sympathetic editing managed to produce rich colours and greatly clean up the frames, while still retaining a couple of artefacts here and there for that "home movie projector" feel.

I have been so impressed with the service I received from Alive Studios. We had an urgent requirement to get cine films converted to a digital format (surprise xmas gift) and I wasn't sure if there was enough time, or if the finished product would be watchable. I needn't have worried, from my first phone call I realised I would be dealing with real, live people who understood my requirements. So much nice than interacting with an algorithm. Needless to say the films were received well before xmas and the quality of them was stunning (nice fudge too!)

I could not be happier with the service I have received from Alive Studios. My super 8 films were over 55 years old and had some damage but the quality of restoration is incredible. Every contact was pleasant and handled with professionalism. I had a 3 month wait but I was reassured at every step and felt the care and attention I received was exceptional. Thank you Jennie and the team for all your kind attention. I am thrilled with my films and delighted to be able to hand down memories to my family for posterity

Worst development experience. Sent tapes early in 2020, COVID of course delayed these being developed - however I had to chase for updates all year. Was happy to wait given the circumstances around COVID. However in December still chasing for updates the studio sent me an email saying they had mailed back my film tape. This was done without telling me, and without my confirmation.
I had since left the place I was living therefore it was sent to an address I was no longer at. The tapes were sent with Royal Mail 2nd Class, and apparently pushed through a letterbox (probably damaging any tape inside). The tape has since gone missing, and I'm having to ring various depots trying to track this down. Long story short a tape with great memories has now been lost without any backup or development made.
I would caution anyone of working with Alive if you value your tape and/or want someone to deal with it in a courteous manner. Never even received an apology or admission of fault.

Recently had all my family cinefilms transferred by Alive studios. Takes a while but the results were definitely worth the wait. All 21 films were collected and returned exactly when they said they would and communication was impeccable all the way about what stage my films were at. And having them online is just brilliant so that I can share them with family and friends who haven't seen them in ages.
So if you are deliberating about the cost just go for it as you only get them transferred once and they have to be done right. After all this time the 1960s films colour were still incredible. Thanks.

Our family wanted to transfer a 16MM film that'd been sat in the back of a cupboard for the last fifty years to ProRes 4K to keep it for future generations. The team at Alive Studios did a fantastic transfer and were nothing but professional. We're all so thrilled with the transfer and amazed at what they could produce considering the age of the film.
I can highly, highly recommend them. The only thing I would note to future customers is that transfers of this quality take time, so be patient. It'll be well worth the wait. Thank you so much again.

Really pleased with Alive Studios' job, digitising some old family Super 8 movies. I had a tricky order, made from one country but delivered to another on a chosen date. They me updated at every stage of project via email, and had no problem fulfilling my order in a shorter requested turnaround time. Would use again definitely
