The awkward age. It seems to happen overnight. Children often don't get photographed during this time, but it's when you can really start to see who they're becoming. This is where being truly seen, with only the kindest of eyes, combined with the power of photography, is nourishing beyond words. These sessions give your child the gift of seeing themselves as who they naturally, beautifully are.
Pregnancy is the beginning of your love affair with your child. It's amazing, intense, beautiful, scary and powerful--so many things all at once. And the truth is, having beautiful and evocative images of it is more important than any of us can know in the present moment. Pregnancy is more than a "bump", and this fine art experience is about more than photographs.
I connect with families much the same way I approached the news stories of my photojournalism career: deeply interested, observant, curious, gently uncovering what makes you you. I'll ask you all kinds of interesting and personal questions, and as we talk, images will already start to swirl in my mind.
First and foremost, I would like to thank Sarah for the beautiful experience my wife, daughter and I had within this venture. From the beginning of this process, Sarah and her assistant, Jill, were highly organized, responsive, and attentive to detail. The studio itself contained an array of her works on the walls, which ranged in size and aesthetic.
