I traded my guitar for a camera when I was in high school and I've never looked back. Growing up in Brooklyn and walking the streets with my camera I had plenty of visuals to cut my teeth on. I feel the time I spent doing street photography taught me the value of being in the moment and the importance of storytelling.
Working in Arizona has required me to have a broad range of commercial photography skills. Whether it's portraits or professional headshots in the studio or on location, products, interior/exterior architecture, food/restaurant photography, or industrial photography - it's what I do. I thrive on creative variety and freshness in approach.
I love the photo business - you never know what you're going to be asked to photograph. There are always fun venues like this recycling facility and finding the right shot is my favorite kind of challenge. This is the floor of The Cup restaurant at the Hotel Congress, Tucson. They say there are 10,000 coins underfoot. It never appeared in a magazine story about the hotel but I thought it added to the atmosphere and feel the place.
