We are Deutsch Photography, long-time NYC headshot photographers. We've been taking actor headshots, corporate headshots, and modeling headshots for more than 15 years, traversing all 5 boroughs to help our clients capture the right atmosphere in their photos. I'm Brett Deutsch, co-owner and chief photographer of Headshots NYC, Gotham Family Photos and Deutsch Photography. I believe that a well-taken photograph can communicate a huge amount of information.

At Deutsch Photography, we photograph corporate headshots, actor headshots, and team portraits, as well as environmental & publicity photos. We're hired for a variety of purposes: websites, resumes, marketing & promotional materials, annual reports and more. As you can see from the galleries below, we shoot inside, outside, on location and at our studio in Chelsea.

As a NYC photographer, I love shooting actor headshots. New York has the cream of the crop when it comes to actors and actresses, and you're part of that wonderful world. In your headshot session, I'll focus on telegraphing your type and capturing that special something-something that only you can bring to the roles you want.

Modeling portfolios and comp cards are your calling cards in the industry. As a NYC commercial photographer, I know nothing makes a modeling scout or modeling agency skedaddle faster than an unprofessional book. The foundational photos of modeling portfolios are (1) a strong headshot, (2) a straightforward body shot, and (3) samples from your area(s) of focus.

My name is Brett Deutsch, and I'm the owner of Deutsch Photography (www.headshotsnyc.com and www.deutschphoto.com). I trained at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, and later in New York City at the New York Institute of Photography and the School of Visual Arts. But mostly I've studied how to take a great photograph by taking hundreds of thousands of pictures at home in Manhattan and all over the world.

No matter who or what I'm photographing headshots, portraits, landscapes, animals or events I try to catch images that are truthful and powerful. I consider myself a documentarian, someone who can tell a story with a single photograph.

In addition to my work around NYC, I've tramped with my cameras through 26 countries and all 7 continents, involving Antarctica. My travel photography and portraits have been published in the United States (including the Dallas Morning News, the Kansas City Star and the Hartford News), and internationally (Time Out London, The Ottawa Citizen, The Regina Leader-Post and The Victoria Times Colonist).

When not shooting photos, I like hanging out or going on (mis)adventures with my wife Sherri, our dog Samson and our friends.
