My philosophy is that photo sessions should be easy going, fun, and something that you and your children will look forward to. I like to sit down on the floor and play first, make a game out of the session, put people at ease so they can feel relaxed enough to reveal their true personality. I know it can be stressful if you are thinking your child is acting out - or your newborn is fussy - but in 6 years of working with babies and children I have never had a situation where a little play time or snuggle time couldn't get things back on track. I really enjoy being around children and I think they feel that from me.

My style is always evolving and changing and I try to stay on top of current trends - I don't want to keep photographing the same way for years and years because then I'm not growing. I don't use a lot of props and scenery in the studio - I like to keep things simple and keep the focus on expressions. If you are looking for the more traditional heritage styled photography there are others in this area much better than I am at that and I would be happy to recommend them. I love doing fun and fresh photography in the studio but I also love working outdoors and even in your own home - which is great for your newborn!

I am very proud that currently I am only one of 3 Certified Professional Photographers in the Memphis area and the only one in Collierville. I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America and attend seminars and conventions several times a year to stay on top of the latest industry news. Recently I was honored with several of my images earning awards at our TN State Convention in 2009. But degrees and awards don't mean much if my images don't reflect something above what others can do with their new digital camera. So to that end I constantly challenge myself with new projects and educate myself daily.
