Hi, I am Mary Claire Carroll of Carroll Photos, a portrait studio located in Richmond, a beautiful Vermont village just southeast of Burlington. Within my studio, at your business, your family home, or at some lovely Vermont location, I work with you to create portraits that help tell your story. I love photographing people, and I have a gift of putting people at ease in front of the camera. I think my approach fosters confidence and is energizing, both key factors in developing strong, dynamic photographs.
Services
I help businesses, organizations, and individuals tell their story with photography that conveys the image they want the world to see. These services include photographs for web sites, advertising, annual reports, and public relations material, anything you would use to tell your story. I do love to help individuals and families celebrate their accomplishments.
Images of nature and places mostly taken in Vermont, although you will find some photographs from Maine and the Adirondacks as well. Through these images I try to capture moments of color and light. Many of these images can be found on my Vermont Scenic Portrait Note cards sold on this website. They can also be made into prints or used for promoting your business.
Over the years I have trained myself to look for moments of light, color, and composition in the environment around me and attempt to capture them with my camera. I don't always succeed, but that is OK. The point is I keep looking and taking images. It is my goal to share the beauty I find with you in a print, a card, or sometimes just a social media post. And maybe inspire you to look at our world in a different way.
I have known and admired Mary Claire Carroll's photography for years. So when I needed some new photos for my business, she was a natural choice. I needed updated professional pictures but I wanted more than the traditional headshots - I wanted my personality and style to come through. I am so pleased with the results, they communicate my energy and style so clearly.

Lauren is a wonderful photographer. She took photos of my house for inclusion in a website. Her attention to detail is amazing. She took so many photos and was not satisfied until she had lighting and subject matter perfect. She worked non stop remaining pleasant all the time. Her time and effort certainly paid off. The resulting photos are soo o good and it was a pleasure to have her in my home.

Lauren is an excellent and extremely professional photographer. She is very patient and understanding with children and dogs, gives you advice about the outfits, the location and considers your ideas and tries to address your expectations. She gives a lot of time and thought to the planning and she is willing to reschedule if weather is not suitable. I highly recommend her. She took lovely photographs of our family. Photos that for sure my children will treasure when they become older.

Me and my family travelled from Germany last summer. While we were in Donegal we reached out to Lauren to do a Family photoshoot on Portsalon Beach. She was so good with the kids and helped us all look happy and unposed in all of the photos. The photos turned out so beautiful. She also made a family album for us that was shipped to our home in Germany! I know have the photos to look and cherish forever! I would defiantly recommend hiring her for a family portrait session!

Highly recommend Lauren! She couldn't do enough for us. She came out to a location of our choice, and her bubbly personality immediately put us at ease. She took lots of photos and kindly advised us how to pose, making sure we were comfortable the whole time. Nothing was a bother. Absolutely love our photos. She won't disappoint!

Me and my girlfriend had an epic photo session with Lauren on top of Knockalla Mountain in Donegal. She knew the hike really well and took us to some really beautiful spots with 360 views. Once we got to the top she directed us on what the best poses were. Everything was super natural, we had a lot of laughs and fun and I am really happy with how the photos turned out. Honestly couldn't recommend enough. I can't wait to get her to take my wedding pics one day!
