My name is Glen Dohie and I've had a passion for photography nearly all my life. I've got over 40 years of experience working in photography in both digital and film. I love everything about capturing life's happiest moments and creating something exciting for you to look back on. I've been honing my skills as a photographer since 1979. I received formal training from the New York Institute of Photography. When I first started working with film photography, I learned something very important that carries over to digital: Do it right the first time!

If you're looking for a photographer, Glen is it! In Kona for our parents 50th Anniversary. The whole family showed up, there was over 25 of us. We wanted to do a ceremony at the beach and take family photos to capture the occasion. After tedious searching, I found Glen thru a referral to be the best value. We hired him for a 1hour session. Then we got so much more than we expected.
I told him our ideas and the beach where we wanted to go. But, being a Saturday afternoon and he having the local knowledge, he gave us much better options. He listened and gave great feedback and suggestions, and was never pushy. After a few quick conversations over the phone, I trusted his professional opinions and was smooth sailing from there.
He worked hard and communicated well. He was at the site 1hour before the event, checking for the best possible lighting and angles. We wanted it all, candid shots, event pictures, and posed shots. In a stressful situation, Glen is all sunshine and rainbows. True aloha spirit! He is very pleasant and positive. His work is amazing. Then a few days after the event, just before we left for the mainland he met up with us and gave us a flash drive with all the pictures he took, hundreds of shots! Nobody does that. But, Glen does! You won't regret going with Glen. Thank you, Glen and God Bless!

Glen does amazing work. He is such a wonderful person. We was on the big island a week ago to get married and had Glen as our photographer and couldn't be happier. Pictures are amazing. If it's your first time on the island as Glen for recommendations on things to do and places to eat. He kmows all the good spots to go. Thanks again Glen

We've used Photography by Glen twice now and he will be the only photographer we'll use when on the Big Island! Glen shot our wedding in 2005 and then our 10-year anniversary pics in 2015. Not only have we fallen in love with his work but Glen is such a wonderful person to be around and work with. He's got a great eye which comes from years of experience. I contacted Glen via email and made arrangements to have family pictures taken while we were on vacation. He chose a fantastic location, giving us a variety of backgrounds. Glen is easy going and personable. He worked well with our 10 year old. We are very satisfied with the wonderful pictures he took and hope to use him again.
