Rob and his associate Craig were absolutely amazing at our wedding. The professionalism and organization was top-notch. The day of our wedding, we had some rain, and unfortunately my dress had gotten some clay on the train. I was mortified and worried about how the pictures would turn out, and in comes Rob to the rescue saying he can photoshop it out!
Definitely put a bride at ease. During the reception, I swear Rob and Craig were everywhere! There was not an inch of the space they did not cover. I had gotten so into a song that I was laying on the dance floor, and no surprise, Rob was literally on the ground with me taking the shot. I would work with him and his team again in a heartbeat! 10/10 would recommend!

Rob Garland is a fantastic photographer. We have used him twice for two events and are very happy with our choice to go with him for our wedding. Rob talks about his passion for "photo journalism, " a style which definitely shows when you look at his work: He loves to capture candids, laughter, real moments, hugs, flashes of emotion in someone's eyes, etc.
When I look back through the photos from our wedding, I really feel like I'm reliving it. Rob's style is very natural, and the way he edits his film that's exactly what we were hoping for. In addition, Rob is an incredibly nice guy. He went out of his way on two occasions to meet us onsite before the events and talk through plans and makes notes of the places and things we wanted to make sure we captured.
This made it so easy on the day-of to know that we could just enjoy the day and let Rob take care of the logistics since he knew exactly what was important to us. It really felt like Rob was there for US. Thank you!

Rob and his staff exceeded all of our expectations for our daughter' recent wedding at the Trump Winery. Rob covered both the rehearsal dinner and wedding day events with incredible detail, attention to lighting, focus, posture & set up- he did all of this without becoming part of the day- he and his assistant were always there to capture the moments, but never in the way.
The quality of the pictures is just incredible. Rob caught all of the emotion, joy and action of the events, in perfect clarity and distinction. He has masterfully created a permanent record of the weekends' events that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. We had the most amazing shoot with Rob. We started at Swannanoa Palace and ended on Ravens Roost Overlook. Rob was very dedicated to our shoot and getting the best shots! We appreciated his guidance as this was our first shoot as a couple. His professionalism was truly recognized. There wasn't a spot he couldn't shoot us on and he took his time with us in order to give us endless beautiful photos. We are having trouble picking our favorites! Thanks Rob! Jon & Taylor

Rob photographed our micro wedding with 10 guests on Sept 12, 2021 and the images are more perfect than I could have ever imagined. I've never had a good "candid/emotional" photo and Rob captured every emotion beautifully. Every laugh and tear is preserved thanks to his expertise. He was wonderful the day of the wedding, his professionalism is top notch and even in an "empty" church I didn't notice his movements.
Somehow he captured every single moment. His personality makes everyone comfortable. The return on investment exceeded my every expectation. I'll cherish these photographs for the rest of my life. They are true pieces of art.

My daughter got married at The Trump Winery a month ago. Rob was recommended to me and it was the best decision to go with him. He was so kind and helpful and very knowledgeable. We had perfect weather and he and his second photographer did an amazing job. We have the pictures back and they are perfect. It is hard to say things are perfect but her pictures are.
He found the most striking places and poses and I remember watching him in his suit lay on the ground a number of times face down to make sure he got the best shots. I highly recommend Rob Garland. Thank you Rob for doing such an amazing job. The Howells

Rob was a veteran of the estate and knew all the best spots to take pictures. He was focused on the light and what would turn out well. Rob was easy going and open to all of our requests, but when the time came we asked him to take the lead. I had absolutely no worries about making sure we had enough photos for the two hours we had Rob. I would highly recommend Rob to any bride and groom.

Rob was our photographer for my proposal to my now Fiance. He was absolutely amazing from start to finish. His communication was outstanding leading up to the proposal. On the day of, he arrived early and help me find the perfect place at The Homestead. When the moment arrived, he took a number of perfect pictures. We were so happy with how everything turned out and he got us our album right away. Could not say more about Rob and his skills. A total pleasure to do business with - A+!

I can't recommend Rob Garland enough! His talent alone is amazing. Rob walked us through everything we could have ever thought or needed leading up the wedding. He gave us great expectations and answered any and all questions we had. He was patient and kind with us as we have never gotten married before. Half of the time I forgot Rob was there as we got ready, did the ceremony and the reception.
I don't think he missed a single thing that happened during any part of the day. Rob was professional, caring, understanding, fun and joyous to be around and have him there. We even gave him a challenge of having to shoot into the sunlight while the ceremony was happening and the finished product of those photos were outstanding. There isn't one bad photo from the countless we received from Rob.
They are all spectacular, stunning and capture everything of our wedding day. There is no one else I would use when it comes to wedding photography or anything to do with portraits or life events. Rob Garland is all you will ever need. We aren't getting married again but we will surely be calling Rob for any life event that we need photographed. Rob has the experience, expertise, knowledge and he's just a great guy to be around too. Hands down, Rob is the guy to call for any wedding photographer. Rob Garland and his crew are always very professional and wonderful to work around. He has done a couple of photo shoots and my wedding in the past, and the pictures are always unique, and full of emotion and energy. Each picture tells a story, which is incredibly hard to do and oh so memorable! Rob is so nice and easy to work with, you will not regret making the choice to have him at your special event!

Rob was wonderful to work with and his experience clearly was reflected in the quality of the photos he took. He captured beautiful posed and candied images. Our elopement ceremony was shared through Zoom to our friends and family. Rob was creative in how he captured not only the ceremony but also the people involved in the ceremony through Zoom. He truly is talented, and I would highly recommend him.

We worked with Rob both for our engagement photos and our wedding photos. His level of dedication to his art and to making his clients happy is unparallel. On the day of our engagement session, it started raining. Rob not only met us early but also listened to what we wanted for our photos, which was to capture the natural beauty of the Shenandoah Valley during sunset.
He changed the location to try to avoid the rain (which we did!) and decided we should leave earlier to try to get some photos in case it started raining out there. Well, it never rained and as it cleared, we thought there still might be a great sunset. Rob drove us all around skyline drive and spent extra time with us at no charge because he knew I really wanted sunset photos.
We ended up experiencing something extraordinary as the sun turned bright pink as it set. He truly went above and beyond that day but we realized that he always does that. Rob is also one of the happiest people you have ever met which makes working with him extremely pleasant and fun. On the day of the wedding, Rob would do anything for the perfect shot including laying on the floor at the reception (which many wedding guests commented on how incredible he was because they had never seen a wedding photographer do that before!).
We love our wedding pictures as both he and his assistant captured so many amazing moments during the day! They are so beautiful and we are so happy we had the chance to work with him on our wedding day.
