Bell Photographers was founded over 70 years ago in Ogden, Utah by Lester Bell and is currently being operated by third and fourth generation family members. Purchased a digital download with custom background; initial download was delivered with the default background, and was able to confirm with Bell's support that the edited version would be delivered in the next couple of weeks. A month later, an envelope arrived with a "free 3x5" of the edited photo showing the paid-for background, and a download code. Downloading the photo the code provides gives. The original, unedited photo. Thanks, Bell photo. I highly recommend NOT "upgrading" anything if you are only purchasing digital.

Last year I ordered magnets and they came fully assembled with a lovely sealed coating, very professional. This year I paid the same price and the photos came as a standard photo print with a separate adhesive magnet that you had to assemble. I could have easily paid to have a 4x6 photo printed and gotten sticky magnets from the dollar store for the same effect.
I was seriously disappointed that I paid the same price as last year and got a product that doesn't even compare. I have last year and this year's magnets hung on my whiteboard at work and you can significantly tell the difference in quality.

The school photos I received for both my children were terrible. The photographer obviously did not check the photo quality before moving along to the next kid because they did not get a picture of either one of my kids smiling - they had weird expressions on their faces like they had gotten tired of waiting with a smile on their face. It would be nice if the photographer could take 10 extra seconds to make sure they took a good photo or take several so they could choose the best one. Unfortunately, I got the same result from both spring and fall pictures for my son. The fall pictures for my daughter were good, but spring were definitely not. I hope they do better next year or I'll have to stop wasting my money on school pictures.

Photos take way too long to process. Still missing parts of my order from 6 months ago. They don't try to get kids to smile, don't fix their hair, don't CENTER them in the middle of the photograph. My kindergarten grad photos of my daughter, she is cropped way too far to the right. She's not centered in the photo and I am extremely upset over that.
I expect way more from a business that is specifically dealing with taking pictures of children. I am not happy with either of my purchases from this company, but unfortunately the school goes through them. I have heard handfuls of complaints about this company from other parents, and now unfortunately I have to agree with them.

The turn around time for photos was very long. I purchased a digital photo along with a package and it took over a month. I should of at least receive the digital photo a lot sooner. In addition, the fall pictures are very boring. The kids are standing in a straight pose. I was expecting a better pose such as hands in pockets, arms crossed, arm(s) on hip. Completely disappointed and feel like I wasted money. I will not be purchasing a large package anymore simply because it is not worth it.

How unnatural these stupid pictures are! First of all why would you ask an 11-year-old if she would like to put her hand on her hip? Aren't you supposed to be the professional photographer? Isn't that why we pay you a fortune for these pictures? My daughter looks so unnatural in this photograph and it would have looked a 100% better if both of her arms were by her side! Second- her class photo looks as if a three-year-old had taken it!
The backdrop is completely black which makes the entire picture darker than it needs to be. Then you can't even crop the uneven of the backdrop which even looks more ridiculous! I will never ever buy school pictures again! I am COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED!

I am disappointed with their customer service. My husband placed an order for my daughter. It was a la carte and all I wanted was 5*7. Of course he choose one 8*10. As soon as the order was placed I email their customer service stating we wanted all 5*7. That day was picture day so I was confident that they would fix it. When we got the pictures in the mail we got one 8*10 and the rest 5*7.
I call their customer service right away and they told me that I needed to mail the incorrect picture 8*10. How can I mail a picture, folded and ruin it into an envelope. I believe it was unreasonable for me to have to mail the picture when I am a loyal customer for 3 years and I email a minute after the order was placed. Next picture day I will not buy.
The yearbook I will not buy. I might do once a year moving forward instead of 2. At the end of the day I never give the pictures to my relatives so I will rather save the money.

Our elementary school has switched to Bell Photography from another company and so far have been very underwhelmed. The pictures look all washed out with little color. The website would only allow me to buy one child's pictures online, the other 2 I paid with a check. I had 3 kids all ready for picture day, only to find out a few weeks later that they had dozens and dozens that came back "blurry" and needed retakes.
I had to call and find out if my kids were in that group because I was never notified. Just getting all 3 kids ready for that again is a pain. After weeks and weeks, I only received the child's pictures that I paid for online. After waiting several more weeks, I called and they just never printed the others, as if I hadn't paid for them. All in all, it's been about 4 months.
I'm only giving this 2 stars because the girl I talked to on the phone was nice and explained how to pay for multiple children at once online (not that I will be buying these anymore) and sent in an order for them to be printed and mailed to me. I'm glad she remedied the situation, but I shouldn't have to call and do this.

The quality of my son's annual school photo is great! I am pleased with his photos! I am also impressed with the great customer service Kalli provided! Kalli corrected my address, and resent my son's photos to our new mailing address! Although it is my fault for them having our previous address, Kalli apologized for his photos being sent to our previous mailing address, and resent them without charging us another shipping fee! Thank you Bell Photographers for providing quality photos at an affordable price with great customer service!
