Our Chapel Hill High School Class of 1981 used McCardell Photography to capture our recent 40th high school reunion, belatedly held 5/21/2022. The McCardells were eminently flexible in working with us as our event date and details changed more than once due to COVID-related socialization restrictions. Jonathan was low-key and professional at our event, striking a nice balance between making himself available for whatever posed shots our classmates requested but not drawing attention to himself.

For a couple of hours he floating quietly among us, collecting prize moments of people's spontaneous engagement with each other, talking and dancing. He has a real knack for capturing fleeting facial expressions. I was really pleased with the resulting album!

McCardell Photography was a great choice for our wedding photography! We are very happy with our pictures and are so glad we chose them to capture our special day. We originally were scheduled to get married in May 2020, but had to postpone twice due to COVID. They were so gracious and understanding throughout the whole process, making it as stress-free as possible for us during such a stressful year. We absolutely loved having Jonathan with McCardell Photography shoot both our engagement photos as well as our entire wedding and reception. As our reception was scheduled to be celebrated in a converted barn, we knew we needed someone very experienced with lighting and various camera angles to capture the essence of the environment. Jonathan and Renee were so great to work with! They photographed our wedding in April 2016 and every part of the process was amazing. Renee is a pleasure to work with, especially for someone who is as camera shy as myself. She is an absolute sweetheart and I loved how she integrated herself into our wedding reception while shooting it (i.e. dancing while photographing.) Jonathan and Renee were absolutely wonderful to work with! They always responded quickly to emails and were willing to meet with us in the evenings after work since we lived an hour and a half away. Renee shot our wedding and she was fabulous with our 2 young flower girls. I received all of our pictures back quickly and I couldn't be happier. The book they created is better than I could imagine and I'm so thrilled that we picked a package that included an album.
