Bought a class for my daughter for a Christmas gift. A few days before the class was to start, they cancelled the class. I have requested a refund since January and they will not return calls, emails or refund my money as they promised. I now have my bank disputing this with them and they still will not comply. Sad, because the company seemed like a good one. UPDATE. 6 months now and they still have not returned my money for a class THEY cancelled. My bank is now working with them and they still will not comply. Not good business practice! They won't even allow reviews on their Facebook page for this reason.

LOVED my photography class! Jeff was very helpful and met me where I was at with my photography capabilities (beginner). Would definitely take again later down the road.

If I could rate 0 I would. Completely unprofessionally and unethically run photography organization. Do not place your money here. Photographers and photojournalist LOVE to capture Black and Brown people for the diversity token - and in the same breath GATEKEEP against Black and Brown youth artists. Northeast Minneapolis Photo Center did very wrong, today, and probably many times in the past, and presumably will continue in the future. How will this organization correct it's actions? Diversity training is not enough. I will share the word in my network of artists. It is unacceptable.

I wouldn't trust putting too much time or money into using this space. You may or may not be accused of leaving messes you didn't make. Or you may or may not wait 6 months for refunds on overcharges to your card.

He said my one photo picture would be done in 3 days. I called on 5th day and said it still is not done. He asked me if it was urgent and i said yes, so i called again the next day, day 6 and he said it would be done tomorrow the 7th and was get a little irate with me on the phone. I said i'm coming to get my positive slide and i'll go some where else. When i arrived to his shop to only find my envelope duct tape to the outside of his building for anybody to take! NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL

I haven a member and teacher at the Mpls photo center for over a decade and recommend this valuable art community resource highly. In an era of finished opportunity for darkroom and studio space the photo center stands alone as a true resource for the photo community. One of the few photo centers between New York and LA. Jeffery strives to create and provide relevant photo classes with wonderful thoughtful instructors. This center is a center of the photo scene for public gallery of juried exhibits and other shows. Love it and glad to be a part of this community.

I took a class called from camera to print. In seven weeks I learned a ton of stuff and learned how to effectively use my camera and was able to print some photos out of Lightroom. Jeff is a fantastic instructor I would totally recommend any class from MPLS Photo Center. This is the second class that I have taken.

They rescheduled a class without any type of communication and now won't return calls or messages regarding a refund. Jeff has intentionally ignored all attempts at making this right. Terrible experience.

Great local resource. Classes, dark room and printing options. In the middle of the arts district.

I love, love, love this place! They have a photo meet up hosted here once a month that's just a great place to go to meet other professional and amateur photographers. I would highly recommend stopping by if you have an interest in photography. One thing to note, is it's kinda like f confusing to get to. You have to be buzzed in, and then go to the second floor.

Very good experience, especially as a non-member. I came by right after they opened on a Sunday, and there was one guy there to help. I walked right in, used the computers on hand to open up my image, adjusted it in Photoshop, got it printed, and walked out with a beautiful picture. It took under an hour even though I had no idea what I was doing. Dan was very helpful and patient.

I highly recommend this place for printing photos. Everything was high quality, quick (if you know what you're doing), and cheaper than using some other place like Target to get a large print (and you walk right out with it, unlike needing to wait for shipping). Terrific.

Amazing concept with the shared studio spaces - phenomenal accommodations for both still photography and videography. In love the caliber and range of settings available - even after years of membership, I am still able to find a cool spot to shoot something different. Staff is amazing and owners are incredible people. I highly recommend the Photo Center to anyone looking for studio space and/or printing. I recommend running over to Wes Photo and picking up some of their paper (awesome selection) to run through the printers at the Photo Center for amazing results.

I recently took a class here on Beginning Digital SLR Photography. While the class was very pricey, I definitely feel I got my money's worth. The instructor, Steve Bye, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, patient and good natured. He took the time to explain things thoroughly and answer all questions without being redundant or getting too into details.

The venue was also very nice, an old Warehouse that has been restored beautifully and had large areas with scenes, objects to be photographed. The class was well run and organized, started on time, and even included some "extras" I wasn't expecting. For example, they bring in a live model for students to practice portraits in different lighting. Also, the lunch (the class was on a Sunday from 10-2) was very tasty (make your own sandwich, sides, and dessert) and the two owners came in to help serve, clean up, and answer additional questions.

The class also started with coffee and breakfast! At the end of the session I felt much more comfortable with my photography skills and was excited to build on what I had learned. I hope to go back for another class soon!

I worked with the owner of the Mpls Photo Center in the Spring to coordinate my wedding. He was a bit flakey at first, but things seemed pretty great. The space is really awesome looking out over the river and the Minneapolis skyline. I wanted to rent their Photo Center space for my wedding reception, I was looking for something very unconventional.

About eight weeks before our wedding I called Orin to discuss everything and verify the information we should provide in our wedding invitations. Orin made sure I had certain specifics nailed down, including only printing Mpls, not Minneapolis and such. Well about six weeks before our wedding when we were just getting ready to mail our invitations Orin EMAILED me to CANCEL our booking! CANCEL a wedding reception venue six weeks prior to the wedding?!?!

I called to talk with him and he doublebooked the space causing us to have to find a new venue. We had to reprint our invitations, resend out information and redo our wedding website; costing us an arm and a leg ON TOP of finding a new venue that cost more money than planned. Orin basically said he was sorry, but wouldn't help us with the amount of money he ending up costing my fiance and I.

I wouldn't suggest going in to any sort of business negotiations or situation with him, as he is not very organized and doesn't understand how much things cost. As a wedding planner myself, I suggested he never make a committment without triple, quadruple checking any date long ahead of time!
